Thanks for the suggestion! Derek—in our other rooms the picture rail is really close to the ceiling like yours and I'm sure a lot of people mistakenly think it's crown molding. We have one in our dining room, it's so close to the ceiling, we thought it was crown that wasn't applied properly. We haven't hung anything from it yet, we still have to strip all the paint off of it. The picture rail looks great. Cheryl beat me to it. I hang a lot of art with work and you can even double up on the "bumpers" if you need to. They work wonders. You can find them with the hooks and such at the big box stores. They are maybe 1/2" in diameter & 1/8" thick. Try the frame department of a craft store. Love what you are doing with the house - looks great!
